No Dogmas Allowed

Michael Moore (USA) - alto sax, clarinet, bass clarinet, Jon Birdsong (USA) - cornet, cornetto, Hans Hasebos (NL) - vibraphone, percussion, soprano sax, Henk Raven (NL) - tuba, euphonium, tenor sax, Michael Baird (ZAM/GB) - drumset, percussion, karimba. Recorded in Amsterdam in September 2024 in Mikel Le Roy's new studio. Michael Baird invited some longtime musical friends living in Holland - and Jon who lives closeby in Belgium - to record some themes, collective improvisation, and space, during two consecutive days playing live in the natural acoustics of the main studio room. No headphones, no monitors, no chase-up, just breathing together. When asked a little later what 'genre' the recorded music was, Michael answered: "Modern music." When then asked what he meant by that, he replied: "No dogmas allowed..."
